Day 78 - Wednesday, August 31

The longest week

Michelle's Diaries on Wednesday's show were interesting since she made it sound like she'd be campaigning her brains out but instead, she's continued to sleep 20 hours a day or so, and I'm pretty sure she hasn't ventured upstairs at all to talk things over.. she, James and Natalie still seem to think Paul will be walking the plank, even though they have noticed Paul and Victor chumming it up with Nicole and Corey, and they even caught Victor and Corey studying together.. it's all kind of mind-boggling, really

After a very lot of back and forth between Corey and Nicole, they finally agreed on offering Corey's bribe to Victor to ensure he votes out Michelle.. after getting Diary's consent, Corey offered up his $5,000 card and Victor agreed, after Nicole reminded them they had to do that part.. Paul hugged Corey first since he's the one on the block against Michelle, and then they did a four-way hug - Flashback 8/31 8.58pm.. yes Victor was going to do that anyway but it is Big Brother and they can never be sure of what they're being told - it was either this, or Corey give it to Nicole to break the tie, or wait and hope there would be an opportunity in the HOH comp to use it, or let it go to waste.. Corey and Nicole decided Victor could use the cash and they were happy to give it to him

In other news, there's now an ad-free All Access subscription option, so you can watch any/all prior Big Brother seasons or a zillion other CBS shows without commercials.. it runs $9.99 per month versus the current $5.99 with ads.. sign up now and you'll be set to watch the rest of this season play out plus the new fall season, or you can click "Upgrade to Commercial Free" in the upper right corner of feeds window if you already have All Access and want to switch to the commercial-free version.. note if you use All Access to watch live CBS, you'll still have commercials (or possibly dead air) because live TV's like that

Day 77 - Tuesday, August 30

As the hamster wheel turns

Things aren't all unicorns and roses in HOH paradise.. Corey talked to Victor on Monday night about his relationship with Nicole - lack of, rather - citing her sensitivity and differences in things they like to do (she staying home versus he going out drinking), and saying things like "I'm not gonna come out of this place in a relationship" and re Hayden, "look how that ended, you don't want to make the same mistake twice"

Contrary to what one updater tweeted, I'm pretty sure he did not say "thanks for the all the sex but they don't have an actual relationship" although maybe he meant something like that, who knows.. later Nicole had a mini breakdown with him, saying it was because stress, PMS, and she thinks this week will be a double eviction and she could go.. meanwhile they continued to climb on and around each other at most opportunities

The HOH camera came out on schedule and Nicole wrote her blog and tweets, and apparently got a question about her and Corey's future together after the show

Victor did a BB Nature Watch skit for his and our amusement, utilizing safari lounge props and his clever wit to narrate the behavior of the "deadly species" he observed - Flashback 8/30 3.04pm and 3.09pm

Victor and Corey were busted studying days together, which didn't sit well at all with Michelle or James.. Corey's bribe still sits in his virtual pocket as of now, Michelle's still going, and that's all I got

Day 76 - Monday, August 29

Fourth quarter

It's true, we've finally entered the final quarter of this oh-so-long season

Nicole did not use her veto, and Michelle's due to walk the plank if nothing changes before Thursday.. I don't think anyone but Natalie has particularly noticed how nonchalant Paul's been, and how chummy he (and Victor) are being with Nicole (and Corey), and I'd say Michelle probably wouldn't do much about it even if she finds out what's going on, but you never can tell with Michelle

I'm going to take a little time off because I haven't had any since before we started, but I'll update the site if anything should happen that's update-worthy

GET YOUR FEEDS so you can watch it unfold for yourself, click Previous Hamsterwatch episode up top to see what's come before, and click Feeds Updates way up top for detailed play-by-play with tons of screencaps by @UGotBronx

Day 75 - Sunday, August 28

Blowup hamster

A nothing afternoon came alive when a drone buzzed the backyard - Flashback 8/28 2.41pm.. Michelle thought they were "being attacked" and ran for the house.. it had a blowup sex doll tied to it which said JUR8 BBS18 #1.. Paul was inside asleep so we could call it a security fail, but his mission is over

None of them got a good look but they were all agog with speculation from the partial and wrong letters they thought they saw once the feeds came back, so mission accomplished.. I believe it translates to Jokers Updates Rate BB Season 18 #1.. I'd have gone with something to let them know they're failing us - R8 #18 maybe, or STOP THE SHOWMANCES, ZIGGY MARLEY FOR AFP, et cetera, but that's just me

Caps courtesy @BigBroAlways (left) and @jokersupdates (right)

Game-wise, James and Natalie still think Paul's going this week but as of now, it'll be Michelle.. maybe all the blindsides James ruined all season will backfire/pay off and he'll get blindsided on Thursday? We'll see, it's a very long time til then

Corey and Nicole tentatively agreed for Corey to offer his $5k bribe to Victor to ensure he votes out Michelle (which he'd do anyway, and they know that).. prior to that, Corey had been lifting weights and got stuck.. Paul and James ran over to help free him, and he was lectured by Nicole and others about not overdoing it when on slop.. Michelle had another teary meltdown about her sisters better not be moving her things or ruining her clothes, and that led to her saying she's ugly and fat.. Natalie listened and tried to steer her in a positive direction, like she does

Day 74 - Saturday, August 27

Old school

Their Have-not call came early again, shortly after 8am, with a classic stinky and disgusting display of squid and seaweed, this week's slop supplement for Corey and Victor, who were banished to the bumpercars again for being the first two off the HOH apparatus

They also got packaged dried seaweed in a variety of flavors, and possibly some calamari for later, but the smelly display had them all holding their noses.. James and Paul celebrated, Corey and Victor were crushed, as was Nicole who said now she'll have to sleep alone, and Natalie told Corey to get his bribe on.. to their credit, they cleaned it all up right away because of the stench, gagging as they did so, and that made a nice change from two or three days the Have-not display usually hangs around with this group

Everyone played the veto except Natalie, who hosted.. Nicole won her first veto, which obviously made her happy, and she mentioned her bucket list after she did a celebratory pantry dance and leap with Corey.. it was a Christmas theme with cute elf costumes and a Ms Claus getup for Natalie, candy canes, and reindeer.. it was the how many items/stay or fold comp.. Corey wanted to give Nicole his $5k bribe but she said wait to see if he needs it in the next HOH comp, that it'd be better to let it go to waste than need it and not have it anymore

As of now, Nicole plans on not using her veto, and Corey and Victor will vote out Michelle, with Nicole breaking a tie to push her out the door if needed - possibly getting Corey's $5,000 to do so

Paul pulled Michelle aside to have a "let's put it all behind us" chat (aka jury management).. he sat in an elevated power position and she didn't make much eye contact til they were wrapping up.. they rehashed the clothes-touching incident, she apologized for saying atheist and he for c-word, but he scored a direct hit (and won the chat, in my opinion) when he conversationally reminded her she had nominated him.. once again, like him or not, you can't deny he's playing Big Brother, and well

They wrapped with a hug and apologies again, and Paul scored a final point when he said now Diary will call them in to talk about their talk, "so you and Big Meech, back together".. that enormous subliminal seed took root right away, as Michelle retold to James and Natalie without bitterness, resentment, or her usual mocking tones.. James said it was all Paul trying to save himself - little does he know (yet?) that Paul's sitting prettier than he is these days

Australian Survivor, and Big Brother Australia

Photo: tenplay.com.au

Australia's premiere season of Survivor has kicked off, and is already getting good reviews and positive comparisons to early USA seasons.. you can watch online at Australian Survivor official site.. outside Australia, use HideMyAss and connect to an Australian server

Unfortunately, Big Brother Australia is on hiatus, possibly permanently, but they used to do the hamsters-in-a-house concept better than most.. their 2013 season is my all-time favorite BB ever, and I can't recommend it highly enough.. here's the premiere to get you hooked started.. all episodes are on YouTube but from a few different uploaders.. there is a playlist but it skips a few episodes, so just YouTube search: Big Brother Australia 2013 and remember which ep you're on.. I promise you won't regret it

TEAM CATEGORY 4

He gave Cody & Derrick more airtime than they had on BB16, and had the most raging case of HOHitis we've seen in ages, never mind most of them just let him think he was driving so they didn't have to. His smugness was out of control, he was obsessed with saying Tiffany was Vanessa and had issues with Bridgette being a feminist, and he self-directed a World's Worst Haircut to launch his mini-me Paul era. He cuddled and more with Zakiyah while plotting against her, berated her when she asked what's up, and bragged that he 'boned' her all over the habitat. He peed in the hot tub, refused to make pie, cussed non-stop, cried when he lost, and he picked up Julie a foot off the ground. Good riddance 'type thing'.

Won: 8 days pixel suit; Outback dinner
TEAM CATEGORY 4

She was super perky and upbeat, with a dark side that was fun and fascinating. She was in a pixel bikini when feeds began, and she formed a solid friendship/alliance with Bronte and Natalie. She baked cookies nonstop and gathered intel for the Spygirls as everyone overlooked her and gametalked around her in the kitchen. Michelle hated her over a misunderstood eyebrows comment, and then Bridgette became everyone's target when she buddied up with Frank and won an HOH and veto the same week. But she survived two evictions after his, and openly confronted Michelle about their drama, eventually winning her over. She embraced Tiffany's Cabbage Patch tag, and she'll be missed.

Won: Outback dinner (guest)
TEAM BIG SISTER

Stunningly gorgeous plus photogenic, she came in as a fan since BB3 but said she was up for a showmance. She focused on the latter when she took a shine to Paulie, and that progressed from awkward overlong hugs to bumping in bumpercars. He gave her several verbal beatdowns but she kept going back for more, even as he plotted her demise with his boys. She also took a shine to a stuffed giraffe and gave it a birthday party, and she formed a couple friendships that might last beyond BB, notably with Da'Vonne and Michelle. Game-wise she didn't do much and she went eight consecutive shows with no Diaries. She had a Murphree-esque mirror routine but she avoided #Deathrace2016 - best stunt hair to date.

Won: Outback dinner (guest)
TEAM BIG SISTER

She lasted longer than last time, but not as long as she hoped. Like Frank and Nicole, she started gaming too hard and turning on her fellow vets, when the four of them could have steamrolled the eejit noobs and gone all the way. Da'Vonne played better than some, planting little poison seedbombs against others that took root and grew, but they came back to bite her. She gave us good Diaries again, creative turns of phrase, hair flips, deadly if-looks-could-kill glares, reaction faces deluxe, and occasional belly laughs. Now and then she dropped her game face and gave us a funny, relaxed one instead, and it was always good to see.

Won: 8 days pixel suit; Outback dinner
TEAM CATEGORY 4

He made a rookie mistake by playing too hard and fast, way too early, when he should have laid low and enjoyed the safety that was handed to him. But he played for his life last time, and he was mentored by the sidekick rather than the master. His social game was the best of the bunch till he got in trouble for slapping asses and being mouthy, but he's not a bad guy overall and his exit was a fatal hit for the feeds. Pixels were his third costume, a hamster record (until Nicole tied it). His friendship with Bridgette was fun to watch, with funky movie retells and baking, and every random topic under the sun.

Won: $2,500
TEAM FREAKAZOID

She came in looking and sounding so much like Vanessa it was spooky, but it didn't take long to realize her game was more Audrey-style chaos and sabotage than poker-faced strategy. Paulie's the only one who didn't get that memo but that's Paulie for you. Two weeks in a row she didn't campaign to save herself nearly as much as others campaigned for her, but when she transformed into Free Agent IDGAF Tiffany it was a joy to behold. I'm surprised #They let one of the six stuntcasts go before jury, but it just goes to show the whole thing isn't as rigged as some believe.

Won: Immunity 1st 2 evictions
TEAM UNICORN

She went in saying she'd use behavioral sciences to maneuver her way to the win but she spent most of her time with Bridgette and Natalie who were barely playing BB. Her huge confession to them about being the 'secret nerd' and aspiring mathematician was just silly, and she'll always be remembered for not knowing what 9x9 is. She didn't bring much to the table beyond her abnormally high voice and hair bows, and even the hair bows didn't stick around. She seems like a pleasant enough person but like so many others, she should have gone on a dating show instead.

Won: Nothing
TEAM BIG SISTER

One of the most delusional hamsters ever (and that's saying something), he was convinced he owned the house, he was the messiah of the newbies, the savior, the sanctuary, and the next Mario Lopez. He wore his doggie comp suit for days, but mostly he just wore underpants. His gametalks with Paul and Victor were pure comedy since they had no clue whatsoever how far out of every loop they were, and The Jozea and Paul Talk Show concluded with the two of them roaming the house looking for a camera that worked. Jozea's shtick got old fast for many, but he was feeds gold for trainwreck fans like myself.

Won: $2,500
TEAM FREAKAZOID

I didn't like having to combine an intro with an obit, but that's how the dog biscuit crumbles. He seemed like a fun guy with potential for fun feeds, especially his admission that he'd be 'willing to flirt if necessary' but he also might have gotten into heated political discussions, and BB is not the place for that. He didn't technically get Jodi'd since he got to compete twice, but gone before feeds is never good, and neither is trial by combat. Too bad the token older/regular person/fan got the first boot but young, pretty, hormonal hamsters are all the rage anymore.
