Daily Feeds Recaps

Day 64 - Wednesday - September 8, 2021

This morning Derek told Xavier and Kyland "do you know what my dumbass has just realized? I woke up this morning, yo damn, I ain't got nobody in jury!" They all laughed, partly because it's partly true, but he does have Britini there. I don't think it was as naive a statement as it sounded, but rather an unspoken pitch to take him for second place. And he celebrated having completed his last night in Have-not room, and he planned tonight's feast.

Claire pitched to Alyssa, who said she'd always included Xavier in her deals but Tiffany did not include Claire in hers. And Alyssa said she's planning on giving Xavier a "sympathy vote." Near noon, feeds went to an EA Play Live splash screen for a bit, then a "bring back those summer vibes" song loop was running over the top of quads for a couple hours, for a double entry on the Goofs Tally below. By the way, for those keeping track, Hannah was Tiffany's sleepover guest last night, so there's no new Tiffany/Kyland hanky-panky to report.

Most of the day was psst-pssting with both Claire and Xavier making pointless campaign pitches because Claire's exit is a foregone conclusion, and everyone knows it except Alyssa and possibly Claire, though I think Claire probably does expect it at this point. She certainly understood why Tiffany put her up rather than anyone in Cookout - she just doesn't know it's a formalized alliance with a name. Alyssa told Kyland about Tiffany taking her aside before veto meeting to offer "an olive branch" by offering to put Kyland up and out if Alyssa would veto Xavier. Alyssa added that she thought that was just "a game move" by Tiffany, so she's not entirely clueless.. but pretty close.

Tiffany and Azah had a lengthy talk, with Tiffany working to rebuild that bond, and itemizing the comps Xavier's thrown, and she tried to give Azah a confidence boost for tomorrow's comps. Kyland held lengthy, rambly one-on-ones with Hannah and with Claire in his Have-not isolation chamber. Xavier visited HOH to check in with Tiffany, saying he thought only Derek, Hannah, Azah would try to win HOH tomorrow, and he said he thought he and Tiffany were good, that any frustration he's had this week with her he'd gotten over "day one" (big lie). Hannah then visited Tiffany in HOH and told her Alyssa said she (Tiffany) was crying after recording her farewells, and that she (Hannah) had told Xavier she didn't think Tiffany was upset with him. They agreed that's why he'd checked in with her. Tiffany was then shocked to see Xavier pacing on the spyscreen, saying she'd never seen that (we sure have, often). They agreed he was nervous about tomorrow. Tiffany said she'll have Claire say something about Xavier in her nominee speech, "like DX did about Sarah Beth." Hannah said that would have to be done carefully so it doesn't blow back on Tiffany, and Hannah also said they should tip off Kyland ahead of time. And their theories about Xavier turned left when they decided maybe he'd spent time in prison.

Claire was finally released from Kyland's conversational clutches after nearly two hours, but not before crying when he finally told her he'd be voting her out. She then retold to Tiffany and said she'll be gone tomorrow, and she spoke for most of us when she said "nobody should fucking have one-on-ones with Ky, it's not beneficial for anyone.. he's so annoying to listen to, he's just so arrogant!" (True.) Tiffany asked about her speech and Claire said if she's going, she wants to call out everyone, especially Xavier and Alyssa. They talked about how sweet Xavier's position has been and how it's been comparatively easy for him to get to this point. They tentatively decided for Claire's speech to be along the lines of "wow if you keep X over me, he's playing a great game" and that she'll vote for him to win the $750,000 over any of them, even Tiffany, and that she'll sway the jury to do the same. Me, I like a good nominee speech scorcher (but you knew that already), but this could be fun too.

Food prep for the midnight feast started around 10pm, and it was a feast, with burgers, homemade mac 'n cheese, and salads. Alyssa, Claire, and especially Derek were happy to end their Have-not week and eat again.

Day 63 - Tuesday - September 7, 2021

Kyland and Tiffany had another greenlight cuddle session, which some overeager viewers translated to more than it looked like. It didn't look like much but there was some undercovers movement. When they shifted to sleepy gametalk, BB told them to put on microphones and Kyland got up and out of there fast, but not before a good night kiss on the head. Is there real chemistry there? Maybe. Or maybe either/both is setting them up as a new duo to be aimed at, and nominated together, thinking they'd probably stay over the other. Or maybe they just like cuddling together.

Early convos around the habitat revolved around this week's votes and comps, and how to position themselves for both. But since most of them are constantly lying to most of the rest of them, there's not a lot that's concrete to keep track of. Claire still didn't know she's on her way out so those convos will be painful or pathetic, depending on your point of view. As of now, it looks like she'll go out 3-2, with Azah and Hannah being the 2, but if Xavier gets wind of that he'll have issues because he wants a 4-1 vote for his own security. Or rather, he'll have more issues, since he still can't get past Tiffany winning the HOH, and he still rants about that pretty regularly. The yard was closed already so their suspicions of a double this week grew stronger, accurately for the first time this season. A Shark Tank parody took place in the reef room, with Azah stealing the show as she usually does. Hannah pointed out to Azah that the three Cookout guys seemed to be getting closer, and were together a lot more than previously.

Alyssa checked in with Derek about an earlier convo with Hannah. Alyssa said the smartest thing for them to do would be to wait until just before the vote to tell Hannah it'll be 4-1 that Claire goes (thinking Kyland would be the 1), so Hannah can vote with the house. And then if Hannah wins HOH, Alyssa and Derek would be safe. She also said Kyland can't know, so he and Tiffany will be blindsided and too frazzled to compete. Derek played along, like he did yesterday with Alyssa's "the final seven are all minorities" revelation. Reminder, it was Hannah who said she'd try to make Alyssa think it was her idea to get Tiffany to put Claire on the block. Clearly she was very successful at that. Here's hoping the edit credits Hannah properly and doesn't paint Alyssa as a mastermind. And she got her video message from home, from the repercussions veto comp last month, with her older sister, two nephews, and her dog.

Claire ran her pitches, which were somewhat customized for each person, past Tiffany, who gave her some tips. Claire then pitched to Azah, with an emphasis on finals votes, and saying "X doesn't need you" several times. Azah said she believed Claire, but she "can't" yet tell her how she's voting. Claire should have recognized that phrasing for the season buzzword/doom-message it was, but if so she didn't let on. Hannah coached Xavier and Alyssa on some TikTok dance steps. Alyssa continued to run skits and characters. Hannah told Tiffany she thought Derek was the glue between Xavier and Kyland, and was keeping them from going after each other, and she suggested they move Derek back to the top of their hit list.

BB Blind Date finally started around 7.30pm. Derek hosted, as Azah asked questions of three contestants: Claire, Kyland, Xavier, who were secluded in the reef room. Alyssa, Hannah, Tiffany ran the questions and answers back and forth between the rooms. I thought Azah selected Xavier as they went on a dinner date in HOH, but it turned out that was just the first of three dates. Tiffany acted as their waitress, and after she rattled off the fancy (non-existent) menu for them, Xavier said "sounds like a cookout!" All three busted up. Azah and Xavier chatted over dinner, and even though they were role-playing, it sounded a lot like most of their non-game convos all season, discussing things like dates they'd enjoy. Next up was Azah and Kyland, as Derek gave Xavier a follow-up interview. After that, Azah selected Xavier as the winner, surprising no one.

Claire made her pitch to Kyland, again laying out finalist voting scenarios. She seemed to capture Kyland's interest with that: he knew she's not staying but I think he may have picked up some info that he wasn't aware of.

Day 62 - Monday - Labor Day - September 6, 2021

Last night Tiffany/Hannah/Kyland hatched a plot to get Alyssa to use her veto on Xavier, telling her it would get supposed house target Kyland on the block, along with a lot of anti-Xavier scheming. Tiffany would make the pitch to Alyssa just before veto meeting and if successful, Derek would go up as renom against Alyssa, who would go to jury. First thing this morning Tiffany and Hannah worked on the wording for Alyssa, as Kyland snitched to Xavier about last night's anti-Xavier talk. I don't think he mentioned the pitch specifically, but Xavier did tell Alyssa if she uses her veto on him, she's a dumbass.

Tiffany made her pitch to Alyssa, but it was after the feeds went off. It was a long shot and it didn't take: Alyssa used her tiny veto on herself, and Tiffany put Claire on the block in her place, as painfully planned. Alyssa retold the pitch later, acting rather full of herself, plus a bit giddy as she retold to Azah and Derek. She said "I am a fucking genius," thinking the plan was to evict Claire to blindside Tiffany. She approached Tiffany in HOH when feeds returned, saying she had to do what she had to do, and Xavier followed her, telling Tiffany he appreciated her keeping her word, and he knew it was hard to put up Claire, but that was the agreement they'd all made. He said he wasn't mad at her but would act like he was for everyone else's benefit. When he left, Tiffany told us "if you have learned nothing about me, just know this: I will let you turn left, I'm not going to force you to turn right."

Feeds were down for their party from 6.15 to 8.25pm. They seemed slightly sippy but not excessively so. Most were laying around the living room chatting and laughing, and Derek was on his own in the yard. Xavier checked on him, and it sounded like a combination of homesick and feeling like Kyland had been manipulating him due to Derek's crush. He bounced back when Alyssa earnestly told him and Azah "I actually thought of this, and I know this is not the reason we're doing this [evicting Claire] at all, but if this plan follows through, the final seven are all minorities." Derek feigned surprised, saying he hadn't thought about that before, as did Azah. Alyssa continued "that has never happened" and "technically I'm half white, so am I next?" Derek and Azah both broke out laughing, and Derek said "why would you think that, what is wrong with you?" And then he ran out of the room stifling laughter, until he busted up with Xavier after retelling Alyssa's revelation.

Ratings - I Have Questions edition

Ratings are based on entertainment value, and curiosity

Noms count: original/renom

1) I assumed they didn't get the middle and tiny size tables last year due to COVID protocols, and the fact that it took three staffers to take apart the giant table, on BB18 at least. Yet here we are a year later with COVID still acting up, and they moved the middle size table in. Great! That's a milestone and a season tradition. But why did they get last year's middle size table?

2) So often things have slipped out on feeds that shouldn't, and I always wondered why they didn't have a 7-second delay on feeds, like live TV does. I'm wondering if they put something like that in place this year since not nearly as many problematic or incriminating things, or staffer sightings and the like, have slipped out to feeds as usual. Granted, this cast is overall WAY less problematic than usual, but there's also a very lot of no-fishies WBRB breaks for no apparent reason. Maybe there are reasons but we just aren't seeing or hearing it, whether it's something the hamsters say or staff talking to them or whatever. For instance, the other night there was no indication of either Hannah's bad hammock dump or the oven fire before feeds went down for those events.

3) September 16 show was always going to be two hours but did they have a triple planned for that night, and then changed that to two doubles September 9 and 16? Most everyone wanted to see Cookout celebrate getting to F6, and to then start turning on each other, and going from 7 to 4 in the quick chaos of a triple would have robbed us of that. It's not all that easy to switch those things up considering the number of comps and crews required, but I'm glad they did.

4) Regardless if they changed that or not, what are they going to do for the second hour on September 16? And why did they add not one but two Friday shows September 17 and 24? Both were relatively recent adds to the schedule. For that matter, what are they going to do on all those shows? We're going to Final Four on September 16, and there are five shows between then and finale. Figure two for fourth place cycle and eviction (or three if they really stretch it out), and one for season review, that still leaves two (or one) shows to be filled with something. Wouldn't it be nice if they went back to evicting third place before finale, letting them deliberate with the jury (as jurors are supposed to do), and letting us have the delicious finalists' fallout on feeds after jury questioning?

Why doesn't she see what's going on and position herself better with more people? If she hadn't won the tiny veto she'd be gone this week, but she did. But it's a double so she'll probably be gone this week anyway.

Many have asked who is she really loyal to? I think the answer to that is whoever's best for her to progress and move forward at any given time. That makes her hard to keep up with. But ultimately, I think her loyalty is to herself, as it should be in BB. I'm more curious why she continues to illustrate her smarts and memory for everyone, but they don't seem to find that threatening, comps-wise?

Many are asking why she didn't just put up Xavier with Kyland or Derek? I think the answer to that is because she has to live with herself afterwards, and she doesn't want to be the one to turn on Cookout and their mission. Claire's the casualty and she gets it, even though she's not aware yet of how formal it is. It's hard to believe in these days of influencers and greedy corporations, but some people still have principles that they value above dollars. Not to mention the backlash Tiffany would get.

3rd juror - 8th evicted - Day 58

This year's 'quirky girl,' she was one of many with a job/life lie, adjusting her drug testing/testifying to administrative assistant, but it ticked off some when she began griping about quitting her job to be there, because they'd all put their lives on hold. She won a paint splatter/memory Wildcard and a balance beam HOH, and she thought she was a badass villain by backdooring DerekX, but she was just doing Kyland's bidding. Tiffany gunned for her for weeks and that gave us moments like 'mistakenly' calling SB a sloth during a group animal game, and her 'fuck Sarah Beth and I said that shit' #FSBAISTS was an instant classic. SarahB spent much of her time laying around, usually entwined with Kyland.

2nd juror - 7th evicted - Day 51

He'd only seen two seasons and he didn't do much homework to know he'd signed up for a dirty game, but he was a quick study and saved himself with veto after being the probable first out. Then he won the following veto as well as an HOH, and he was a legitimate 'comp beast' threat. He was maneuvered into backdooring the other comp threat, Christian, on that HOH, and then SarahB was maneuvered into doing the same to him two weeks later. Again, homework might have helped. But he was well liked by most everyone in there and out here, he was a superb Lord of the Latrine and cockroach dancer, and he laughed a lot, something that's often missing on feeds.

Won: BB$100; Week 1 safety

HOH 0 - Veto 1 - Noms 3/1 - HN 1

1st juror - 6th evicted - Day 44

She went on the block four times, and she ranted, cried, and was a pretty bad sport about it. She only played the game around noms and voting times, so she didn't understand she kept going OTB because she didn't bother to find out what was going on, or to create allies beyond her Jokers team/roomies. The fact she was up against Cookout didn't help her any, but she could have done a lot more than she did, and she blamed her exit on a broken deal that was never struck. She rapped for Julie, and won a hard-fought veto, and broke in on Alyssa/Christian sexytime in HOH. She seemed to be playing a character much of the time, and she contributed a lot to their many skits and songs.

Won: Week 1 Wildcard + safety; Week 3 safety

HOH 1 - Veto 2 - Noms 0/1 - HN 2
TEAM KINGS Captain

5th evicted - Day 37

It was tricky to tell him apart from Travis at first, which wasn't helped by Christian changing his hair once or twice a day, and he often sounded like Victor Arroyo when he spoke. But that passed and soon it was easy to tell Christian was the loud one who was super-glued to Alyssa most of the time. He was sometimes fun and seems like a good guy, but he made no secret of his physical abilities, including doing six backflip/burpie combos in a row one day, just because he could. Those abilities were largely what got him the boot, since he also proved he could put them into action, even when he didn't need to.

4th evicted - Day 30

Apparently she spent a few hours on Twitter and she selected one of my tweets to complain about being villainized, slut shamed, and hated. My tweet was factual, with a touch of snark, but none of that stuff. Maybe she forgot what she signed up for, and I'm sure she's having a tough re-entry, but after having hate for her flung into my mentions every day (as all updaters get, for each of them) to then get called out publicly for what I didn't do, I'll just go with Mariah's 'I don't know her.'

3rd evicted - Day 23

At cast reveal I thought international flight attendant would mean great people skills, but no. He came in boasting of charm but it didn't last long. His talk about girls and dating, and his behavior towards several women in there, were problematic and bound to get worse if he'd stayed. He was happy to be Frenchie's lieutenant for the chaotic first week but then Brent turned on him and practically denied ever being with him. He had zero self-awareness about all this and the edits skewered him as they did Frenchie, proving once again if you do clownery, you'll get the clown music.

2nd evicted - Day 16

Cast reveal brought controversy plus a major Cody/Derrick mixup, and the feeds opened to him announcing he wouldn't put up a woman or minority, but then he put up Alyssa and Kyland, and it was downhill from there. He did everything a feedster should know not to do: shouting in Diary, talking in cliches, Bomb Squadding, pandering, power-tripping, mistaking BB history items, grandstanding, begging for a viewer save, and threatening to quit. Still, all that gave us a wild ride and super-chaotic first week of feeds that we'd never be able to piece together if we hadn't seen it unfold.

I barely know who he was. He dressed in drag (and looked okay doing so), he gave Kyland a birthday lap dance, took his shirt off for his nominee speech, and complained to Julie that white guys with abs are targets. And he didn't do much to prevent his eviction. That's all I got. Aloha.
